At Table with Brunetti
Mangia, mangia, ti fa bene – eat up, it'll do you good. What Italian children hear from a very early age refers to the fact that food not only provides sustenance for the body but is also good for the soul. According to Donna Leon, eating well is no reason for self-adulation and pride: you simply do it twice a day and try to make the food as tasty as you can. And if this is taken for granted and also shared with the family, with guests or also with strangers, it engenders that which is such an important element of the Italian attitude to life. Inspired by At Table with Brunetti, co-authored by Donna Leon and Roberta Pianaro, you can explore your Italian side during the longer intermission with a Venetian menu before the evening's musical and cinematic continuation. Alternatively, Italian food and drinks will be on offer Cibo di Strada style in the Rose Garden.
