Tim Bendzko
Tim Bendzko is one of the defining voices of German-language pop. With songs such as Nur noch kurz die Welt retten, Wenn Worte meine Sprache wären, Hoch and Komm schon!, he has created music that has become firmly established in the collective pop memory.
He is now entering 'pop music's engine room', as he calls it, and is exploring his greatest hits from a new perspective. Together with the pianist, guitarist and musical director Sascha Hünermund and the keyboard player Mathias Grosch, Tim Bendzko exposes the musical core of his compositions and thereby continues to redevelop them during each of his performances. The focus is on the immediate musical interaction. Piano and guitar meet keyboards, electronic sounds and loops created live. Reduced song concepts are turned into multilayered soundscapes that leave room for improvisation, movement and surprising turns. The familiar songs remain recognisable, but they leave their usual form; melodies take centre stage, arrangements are altered. Intimate singer-songwriting meets organic pop and electronic textures. In between the songs, Tim Bendzko tells personal stories and provides some insights into his music's background. Once again, this creates the kind of closeness between the artist and their audience that has always been the special appeal of concerts at Neuhardenberg.
