Rebekka Bakken Trio

Rebekka Bakken is one of the most exciting singer-songwriters of our times and has one of the most striking voices to emerge from Scandinavia, which she proves with every programme, every new album and at each live performance. Time and again, what is particularly impressive is the variability of Rebekka Bakken's voice; sometimes, she sounds gentle and caring, at other times cocky, defiant and shrill. Her voice is incredibly deep and powerful. She boldly mixes the old with the new in her programmes, cover versions of Tom Waits and Paul McCartney, jazz, pop and country, chansons, folkloristic as well as her own compositions, which always reflect influences of her home country Norway. She thereby lets us hear family songs in a new way and explore the unfamiliar together with her. With Rebekka Bakken and her musicians, we experience the melancholy and the rough beauty of her home country, free, beyond any borders and always willing to experiment.
