Pippo Pollina is one of the most important contemporary Italian singer-songwriters. Even after more than 35 years, he continues to surprises his many local fans with his boundless creativity. His 24th album, Canzoni segrete, was released in 2022. In the best Cantautore tradition, his 'secret songs' are about the power of music, the consequences of prosperity, the disconcerting condition of coming to an almost total standstill during the pandemic, its impact on people's passions, dreams, hopes and disappointments.
Whether lyrical ballads, poetic protest songs or rousing rock anthems: Pollina's language and musical expression always remain sensitive and empathic.
