Pinocchio
based on the novel
by Carlo Collodi
The woodcarver Geppetto fashions a puppet from a piece of wood and names it Pinocchio – he actually yearns for a son to help him with his work. However, Pinocchio is not a good boy who stays at home with his father but runs away. Full of curiosity and a lust for life, he rushes towards the temptations of the big wide world regardless of all warnings. After all, isn't it much more exciting to go to the puppet theatre than to sit around in school? Without any knowledge of the world, Pinocchio gets caught between good and evil.
He is taken in by false promises and gets caught up in a lot of lies. After all of his many adventures, will he manage to become a real boy in the end?
Carlo Collodi's famous story of a wooden puppet that turns into a real human child is told with marionettes, glove puppets, giant masks and play-acting.
