Noa
The Giver
Noa effortlessly moves between Yemeni-Jewish-US American and modern Israeli culture. Over the course of an extremely successful career spanning 25 years, the Yemeni-Israeli singer, who grew up in the USA, has performed on the world's most important stages, where she impressed with her clear, powerful soprano and her exceptional stage presence. Initially, she sang and reinterpreted old Yemeni songs which she had heard her grandmother sing as a child, but she soon added Italian, French, Spanish, English, Arabic, Hebrew and even Thai and Hindi songs to her increasingly cosmopolitan repertoire. She was greatly influenced by her mentor Pat Metheny and has already sung duets with greats such as Stevie Wonder, Andrea Bocelli, Al Di Meola, George Benson and Sting. She is an Israeli 'voice of peace', and the Franciscan order has honoured her with the 'Pilgrim of Peace' award in recognition of her active commitment to achieving peace and reconciliation between Jews and Palestinians.
Besides her well-known songs, the Neuhardenberg concert will above all feature songs from her new album The Giver, which she wrote after 7 October 2023 together with the pianist and Grammy Award winner Ruslan Sirota. More than even before, she counters the enmity and the war with the generosity of sharing, caring and giving.
