When the trumpeter and composer Markus Stockhausen and the pianist Florian Weber share the stage as a duo, they build a well-balanced whole with their colourful compositions, inspired improvisations and intuitive performance style with an obvious enjoyment of what they do and a masterful proficiency, constantly producing previously unimagined sounds on their instruments. This penchant for musical experimentation has united them since 2008.
In the autumn of 2026, the duo will be joined by the internationally well-known drummer Patrice Héral and will become a trio. He has played numerous concerts with Markus Stockhausen, who also released the widely acclaimed ECM recording Kartà with him, as well as Arild Andersen and Terje Rypdal.
All three musicians are consummately at home in both the classical music as well as the jazz genre and have extremely high standards when it comes to their sound. In concert, they let the listeners participate in their musical conversation and are always searching for that 'magical moment'.
