Two 'jazz powerhouses' have joined forces to pay homage to Joe Zawinul's Weather Report, one of the greatest jazz and fusion bands ever that is still a lodestar for countless musicians performing a wide range of different musical styles today.
The two-time Grammy winner Kurt Elling, known for his moving baritone and his excellent improvisation skills, adds his strengths to those of the Yellowjackets, who have become a jazz fusion legend themselves in the over four decades of the band's history. Throughout that time, they have constantly redefined the genre. Their collaboration combines Weather Report's iconic music with daring reinterpretations and original virtuosity.
