Anne Sofie von Otter is one of the best-known mezzo-sopranos of our times. In an outstanding career that has spanned more than thirty years, she has performed on the world's most important stages, both in the great opera roles as well as in concert with renowned orchestras. She is also an extremely versatile artist, which she has demonstrated in a wide range of different roles on stage. She has played, for example, Leokadia Begbick in Brecht and Weill's Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, Geneviève in Debussy's Pelléas et Mélisande at the Paris Opera, and The Old Woman in Leonard Bernstein's Candide at the Komische Oper Berlin. Beyond the classical repertoire, she has collaborated with the American jazz pianist Brad Mehldau and the British musician Elvis Costello, for example.

She is coming to Neuhardenberg with her musical accompanists Leif Kaner Lidström at the piano and Fabian Fredriksson at the guitar. Their joint programme is a journey that spans several eras through the musical Europe of Edvard Grieg and Swedish folk music via Johann Sebastian Bach and Franz Schubert all the way to compositions by the head of The Who Pete Townshend.
