Ulrich Tukur
solo

A night in Venice

There is no other like it, none that is more beautiful, more mysterious, brighter, more melancholic. Venice is totally unique, and full of history and stories. With a stranger's curiosity, Ulrich Tukur unearths the exceptional amongst the everyday, which can also be found here, in this city with its morbid charm. Suddenly, the historic scenery reveals the oddest things almost of its own accord.

Ulrich Tukur's new solo programme is a charming homage to the city in the lagoon. He has put together romantic and funny stories full of likeable characters to create a game of deception that hovers between the past and the present, between fiction and reality, and if there happens to be a piano or an accordion around, he'll play on that, tooItalian music, of course.

Ulrich Tukur is one of Germany's most renowned actors. He has not only had roles in many important cinema and TV productions but has also been on stage as a vocalist, pianist and accordionist for many years, for example with the 'Rhythmus Boys', with whom he has visited Neuhardenberg several times in the past. He is more than familiar with Venice, as he spent 20 years of his life there. His debut as a writer is also an homage to Venice: Die Seerose im Speisesaal – Venezianische Geschichten ('The water lily in the dining room – Venetian stories').
