The Sarahbanda is an ensemble unlike any other. Initiated by Sarah Willis, the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra's ever industrious horn player, within the scope of the widely acclaimed project Mozart y Mambo, it combines captivating Cuban dance rhythms with an instrument that the traditional music of this Caribbean island does not normally feature: the French horn. In this constellation, some of the best-known Cuban songs, including Chan Chan and Sandunguera, can be experienced in a way they have never been heard before.

The horn's timbre and the Cuban grooves, performed by some of the island's most talented musicians, create a completely new sound – fresh, innovative, irresistible and utterly danceable. With exclusive new arrangements, original compositions by members of the band as well as some classical-meets-Cuba surprises, The Sarahbanda brings the heat of the Caribbean to a cool September evening in Brandenburg, coupled with philharmonic virtuosity and a shared love of making music that knows no borders.
