The Mozart Nyman Concert
Sebastian Knauer can look back over a concert career that spans over 30 years since his debut concert at the age of fourteen at the Laeiszhalle in his home town of Hamburg. He has given concerts in many great concert halls in over 50 countries, and regularly performs at the great music festivals all over the world. Sebastian Knauer has performed all 27 Mozart concerts with the Hamburg Philharmonic Orchestra, and all Haydn concerts with the Bamberg Symphony. His by now more than fifteen CD releases reflect his extremely extensive and varied repertoire. In 2017, he won the Echo Klassik for the CD ÜBERBACH (composed by Arash Safaian).
Sebastian Knauer will be coming to the Schinkel Church with his latest project The Mozart Nyman Concert, for which he asked the celebrated composer Michael Nyman, who also has connections with Neuhardenberg, to compose six piano pieces for him. They were inspired by Mozart's sonatas and will be played between their movements to link them.
