Nils Petter Molvær Duo
Stitches

Nils Petter Molvær – trumpet
Jo Berger Myhre – guitar, bass

The Norwegian trumpeter, composer and producer Nils Petter Molvær is one of the best known representatives of electroacoustic music. He was one of the first jazz musicians to integrate the digital and electronic instruments that emerged around the beginning of the new millennium into his works, which resulted in the development of a unique, compelling style that combines the melancholic tones of the trumpet with dynamic electronic soundscapes and changed the face of improvised music in Europe over the past few decades. He has set the bar high as a trumpeter, has composed numerous film scores and has released nine albums under his own name. Regardless of all innovation, his latest, entitled Stitches and developed in collaboration with the drummer Erland Dahlen and the bassist Jo Berger Myhre, retains Molvær's clear musical line and the trumpet's fragility at the core of each composition. It is precisely this fine balance between tenderness and avant-garde that has made Molvær's sound famous and is appreciated by his worldwide fans.

Unfortunately, drummer Erland Dahlen has fallen ill and is unable to travel to Neuhardenberg. To avoid having to cancel the concert, Nils Petter Molvær and Jo Berger Myhre have decided to develop a new programme for trumpet and guitar based on the planned trio repertoire and to perform in this line-up at the Schinkel Church in Neuhardenberg. We hope you will understand this change.
