Jan Vogler Workshop
Final Concert
The master cellist Jan Vogler has been welcomed as a soloist by the most important orchestras on the world's greatest stages. As the director of the Dresden festival, he in turn has hosted the elite of the international music scene. Not least through his annual return to Neuhardenberg, where he holds a one-week workshop for promising young instrumentalists, proves that he also appreciates the focused concentration a quiet refuge in the Brandenburg countryside. The masterclass usually presents the results of the workshop at a joint final concert with their master in the Schinkel Church, which will also be the case this year. For the third time in a row, a class consisting of cellists only will come together to get some professional inspiration not only with regard to their playing, but also with regard to presenting their music on stage. Like last year, Jan Vogler will suddenly pop up in front of a Neuhardenberg supermarket with his class and give whoever happens to be there a brief taste of the programme.
The Masterclass Student Masters programme unites established stars of the classical music scene with young talents at the beginning of their careers, who receive important input from their collaboration with the masters. It was jointly initiated by the German Savings Banks Association cultural fund and the Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival; most of its participants are chosen from the winners of Germany's renowned classical music competition 'Jugend musiziert'.
