Masterclass Student Masters
Jan Vogler Workshop

Final Concert
The Cello Ensemble

with Jan Vogler and his cello class

After concentrating on Johann Sebastian Bach's suites for unaccompanied cello last year, the master cellist Jan Vogler will be returning to Neuhardenberg to teach a cello masterclass again in 2023. This year's workshop will focus on ensemble playing. The final concert will therefore be a 'cellissimo', a celebration of the cello in a wide range of different versions, from solos to duo, trio and quartet, and even cello octet performances. As always, Jan Vogler will join the young musicians on the stage for the final concert. He is also planning to 'liven things up a bit' with spontaneous performances in and beyond the castle grounds of some of the programme pieces during the development stage. With compositions that range from Bach to the Beatles, the repertoire will be diverse and varied.

Jan Vogler's workshop is also part of the Masterclass Student Masters programme. Many of the young instrumentalists who attended the masterclasses in the past few years have been former winners of the 'Jugend musiziert' prize, Germany's annual national competition for young classical musicians, which is also supported by the German Savings Banks Association.
