Konstantin Wecker
Lieder meines Lebens
('Songs of my life')

Konstantin Wecker – piano, vocals
Jo Barnickel – piano
Fany Kammerlander – violoncello

Konstantin Wecker remains true to himself. The singer-songwriter, vocalist, poet and staunch pacifist, the gentle militant, the warner and encourager, is always out front when it comes to fighting for freedom and against those who threaten it.

With his new trio programme Lieder meines Lebens, Konstantin Wecker grants us some very personal insights into his creative work. His life has been shaped by songs – for over 50 years. With the new chamber music programme, the Munich-born musician, composer and author presents his personal poetic highlights from his early years until today, together with his pianist and long-term collaborator Jo Barnikel, as well as Fany Kammerlander on the cello. These include classics such as Wenn der Sommer nicht mehr weit ist, or Willy, which he wrote in the 1970s, as well as Die Irren from his very first LP Die sadopoetischen Gesänge des Konstantin Amadeus Wecker. One thing has never changed for the committed anti-fascist, right from the start: he says that he has always permitted his songs to show his fragility, his vulnerability.
