DOTA & Filmorchestra Babelsberg
The radio station Deutschlandfunk called Dota Kehr the 'German Joni Mitchell'. The Berlin-born singer and former medical student initially released her work under the pseudonym of 'small change princess', which she adopted after her stint as a busker. Her current label DOTA stands for herself and her band. They have recorded sixteen albums by now, and gone on countless national and international tours. They strike a chord with their music – or rather: their chords meet the zeitgeist. Their steadily growing community of fans embraces every new song with enthusiasm, delights in Dota's on point poetry, her musical diversity and, not least, her inimitable voice.
In September 2023, Dota Kehr stood on the stage of the Nikolaisaal in Potsdam and said: 'This is the ultimate accolade, to play with you!' She was talking about the Film Orchestra Babelsberg. She is now also coming to Neuhardenberg with this orchestra, which is always willing to experiment, always welcomes interesting collaborations, and whose arrangements add another dimension to Dota's songs.
