Clemens Tesch-Römer conducts research into how to grow old successfully, into health and quality of life as well as social integration and social participation in old age. He has held an associate professorship for psychology at Freie Universität Berlin since 2003, and has been president of the German Society of Gerontology and Geriatrics and the International Association of Gerontology and Geriatrics, European Region.
He has also headed Germany‘s internationally renowned federal research institute German Centre of Gerontology, whose studies provide the basis for social accounting and public policy consulting.
In his guided tour through the exhibition, Clemens Tesch-Römer talks about the latest research findings on the topics of ‚old age‘ and ‚ageing‘ with reference to the exhibited works, and the representation of old people in the media and in culture.
