'...and they tell you that the faces are different that night, because they are expecting a miracle...' wrote Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

Christmas comes but once a year, and is always full of the memories of past celebrations. Memories of white Christmases, with colourfully decorated Christmas trees full of sweets and tinsel. Memories of wide-eyed children, flushed with excited anticipation, happy families, small and not quite so small miracles. Miracles of friendship and friendliness, miracles of love, miracles you can't explain, and miracles that don't need explaining.

On the evening before the Second Sunday of Advent, Udo Samel will give his audience at Neuhardenberg Castle an early Christmas gift, an atmospheric evening with excerpts from selected literary works. The cheerful, comical, and sometimes also satirical, stories make you look forward the coming festive season and serve as a reminder of the miracle of Christmas.
