Bettina Wegner & Karsten Troyke
Bettina Wegner, vocals
Karsten Troyke, vocals
El Alemán, guitar
Bettina Wegner is a combination of Berlin charm, sensitivity and melancholy with latent but nevertheless noticeable aggressiveness. The angry crescendo is broken by her relaxed, ironic presentation, and behind everything, there is always a human kindness that goes without saying. Karsten Troyke knows how to strike another, different note. Even when he sings about sombre issues, he still manages to combine the cynical with the comical, the terrible with the grotesque. His versatile voice might not sound quite as 'beautiful', but it is never less haunting. Together, the famous Berlin singer-songwriter and the singer-actor revive a song culture that has become rare these days. Both are dedicated to beautiful songs, also folk songs, but literally feel forced to be political by what is happening in society. They are accompanied by the accomplished rock guitarist, theatre musician and puppeteer Jens-Peter Kruse. In keeping with his penchant for Spanish music, his stage name is El Alemán.
