A murder is committed in London; a note reading ‘This is the First’ is found pinned to the body, and there is a clue that points to the address of a remote guesthouse in the country. A policeman visits the guesthouse, and soon, one of the guests is also killed, and the telephone line is cut. One of those present must be the killer. The snowed-in guesthouse becomes a mousetrap for the killer and the victims. What is behind the deaths? Who is the killer? In a dramatic finale, the case is solved in an extremely suspenseful and surprising way.
Agatha Christie’s story The Mousetrap is one of her classic crime masterpieces. The stage version is particularly famous. The play has now had an uninterrupted run of 67 years at London’s St Martin’s Theatre, making it the longest-running theatre production in the world.
Eva Mattes is one of the great screen and stage actresses in the German-speaking countries. From 2002 to 2016, she played a police inspector in the episodes of the long-running television crime series Tatort that are set in Constance; she has been on TV in the series Lena Lorenz since 2015.
