Michael Hoffmann’s Garden Picnic

Milou in May
a film by Louis Malle

The painting Le déjeuner sur l´herbe, The Luncheon on the Grass, is one of the most famous examples of French Impressionism. A picnic in a beautiful, picturesque landscape is one of the cultural techniques of French savoir-vivre that has been adopted internationally with enthusiasm. Dieter Kosslick and the Stiftung Schloss Neuhardenberg foundation are extending an invitation to a very special picnic in the historic park designed by Lenné: A celebration of picnic culture at Michael Hoffmann’s reliably star-rated level. However, with one of the most beautiful picnics ever featured in a film, Louis Malle’s tragicomic Milou in May also recalls the civil unrest that shook France 50 years ago, in the spring of 1968. Vive la révolution?

The singer and songwriter Anna Depenbusch represents a German variant of the chanteuse that has nothing to fear from comparisons with her French colleagues. Live on stage in the park.

Picnic hampers containing a selection of food for two created by Michael Hoffmann especially for this event will be available on the evening, by pre-order only.
